GS1 Canada is looking for a dynamic Director, Product Marketing to join our team.   Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, we are seeking a leader who will bring a disciplined approach to developing and executing compelling marketing strategies to support adoption and awareness for GS1 Canada’s Industry Managed Solutions.



  • Market intelligence – be the expert on our subscribers, who they are, what they need and how we can deliver on their needs through our industry solutions
  • Competitive intelligence - be the expert on the competition to build positioning that differentiates GS1 Canada’s Industry Managed Solutions and articulates our unique value propositions
  • Value proposition development – ability to convert features, functions and technical language into compelling user-friendly messaging highlighting value, benefits and points of differentiation
  • Lead the development of long term IMS marketing strategies and plans, including segmentation strategies identifying key user groups and development of targeted benefit messaging
  • Lead the development of compelling, creative IMS content, campaigns and support tools to effectively engage existing and potential new subscribers, including small and medium businesses
  • Participate in cross-functional product development processes, including agile workgroups, requirements gathering, QA and UAT review, ensuring user-friendly navigation and experience
  • Brief and manage external agencies for identified outsourcing needs
  • Identify and define success metrics and KPIs for the product marketing function that are aligned with organizational and industry engagement goals
  • Data analysis for development of insights to help inform strategy
  • Supervise, coach, mentor and performance-manage product marketing team., including management of team portfolios, capacity and deliverables




  • Positive team player with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple, simultaneous priority projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Minimum 6 years in a senior role in B2B, product marketing/product management and/or software industry with proven examples of success
  • Knowledge of the business processes associated with the supply chain function within a variety of industries
  • Customer-facing experience in a sales or field marketing role within CPG or healthcare industries is highly desirable
  • Content marketing experience, including in-depth understanding of content requirements and style to support the subscriber journey through a variety of touchpoints, including the development of a variety of sales and marketing collateral
  • Experience managing external agencies
  • Data driven approach to marketing, with experience in measurement and analysis of results
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Collaborative approach with highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders of all levels in a professional and efficient manner
  • Team engagement, leadership, problem-solving skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
