The incumbent in this role is responsible for their allocated Tier 2 accounts and an audience of data providers (manufacturers). This role is a key contributor to delivering critical mass adoption for a specific IMS or data recipient. The incumbent is responsible for increasing adoption of GS1 Canada standards and Industry Managed Services (IMS) by outbound calls, collaborating with the Industry Relations team to support specific data recipients or Service Leads to actively engage and support non-subscribers through the complete IMS implementation. This position is a key contributor to delivering data integrity by enabling data providers to implement the IMS required by their trading partners. Key metrics for this role may include: Cost recovery target, Data provider engagement targets, Service adoption targets, Retention targets, Campaign effectiveness, CRM Updates.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop matrix coverage models for each T2 account and ensure relationships are established and maintained across all departments and levels of the subscriber’s organization, for all standards and IMS;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with specific business process users to effectively promote, convert and implement identified IMS for their Trading Partners;
  • Liaises with distributors, manufacturers, category managers and buyers within an assigned category, data recipient or service;
  • Drives completion IMS including New Item Introduction, Marketing Content, eCommerce Content, Shelf Management Content or Product Recall for example;
  • Based on specific project objectives and business drivers, uses business process and services knowledge to influence industry adoption of specific IMS;
  • Contacts and builds relationships with target data providers to convey value, features and benefits of GS1 Canada’s IMS;
  • Collaborates with defined audience of data providers to ensure they meet their Trading Partner or IMS requirements;
  • Sets appropriate expectations with data providers regarding cost, timelines and work efforts to complete IMS required by Trading Partners;
  • Creates and leverages tools to increase the pace to IMS completion such as implementation checklists.
  • Secure subscription renewals for assigned data providers;
  • Actively monitors and acts on reports to progress data providers through the IMS implementation process;
  • Contributes to reporting of project deliverables for leadership meetings and updates.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience


  • Completion of recognized College Diploma in a related field (i.e. Business, Retail Commerce, Supply Chain Management);
  • A minimum of 2-3 year’s work experience, preferably in a customer service and/administrative capacity within the supply chain industry;
  • Knowledge of GS1 Canada, Barcoding Standards, GTIN Allocation Rules, and ECCnet Registry an asset;
  • Demonstrated proven high level of proficiency with MS Office suite, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint;
  • Excellent communication and persuasive skills to interact with internal peers, and external stakeholders;
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to set priorities and manage many projects simultaneously;
  • Creative problem solver with business acumen and an aptitude for process management;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, exhibiting a consistent, positive and approachable manner;
  • Preference given to candidates with Bilingual (French/English) language skills.
