The Marketing and Communications team at GS1 Canada is looking for a passionate, creative thinker – a Copywriter, to help develop compelling content to support our work as a strategic industry partner and meaningfully engage our audience. You will leverage your expertise in content creation to build a strong brand voice. In addition to your mastery with words and an eye for detail, you will bring exceptional communication skills to transform ideas into content that reinforces the value of GS1 Canada and Global Standards

  • Developing compelling communications and content for the target audience across various social media platforms
  • Working on a broad range of projects to effectively engage existing and potential new subscribers, including small and medium businesses
  • Ensuring that copy embraces the voice and tone of GS1 Canada, is grammatically correct and free from spelling errors
  • Keeping key stakeholders informed on status of projects, including participating in project meetings, gathering and incorporating feedback
  • Measuring and analyzing data and results to develop insights and inform future communications
  • Supporting the Marketing and Communications team through review and editing of other written materials


  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Journalism, English, Communications or related field
  • Exceptional writing skills, including experience writing to a range of styles and audiences
  • The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively deliver on diverse writing demands
  • Experience writing copy and developing content at an agency or in Government, Healthcare, CPG, Foodservice or technology industries
  • A collaborative team player with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple, simultaneous priority projects in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, creative approach for sourcing relevant information
  • Ability interact with stakeholders of all levels in a professional and efficient manner
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong writing capabilities across a broad range of subjects and audiences
